The Friar plum is Japanese variety, a large oval fruit with dark violet skins and bright yellow flesh. This jam harkens that of the Amber plum - floral and juicy like green strawberry up front, but the pulp itself is gentle and honeyed in sweetness. This variety is richly textured, spreadable, and perfectly sweet-tart.
